Agape Community Church was founded in 1981 as Agape Gospel Assembly by Rev. Lawrence Koo. With a team of three faithful and bold couples, the church met to worship the Lord in a two-storey house in Taman Tan Chee Hoe.

Over time the church grew in numbers, as more were added into the family spiritually and biologically. It wasn’t long before we outgrew the place and began to move to other locations – first a corner house in Seremban Garden, then the conference hall at Hotel Ria, then a shop lot along Jalan Rahang, and then the former Seremban Bowling Centre along the same road. During that time, God sent us Rev. Benjamin Yeoh and the late Rev. Sally Foo-Yeoh, who dynamically grew the church into its second service and various ministries.

By the leading of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Benjamin Yeoh and our deacons purchased our current land in 1992 along Jalan Dato’ Muda Linggi. God’s hands was evident in every stage the buying, planning and building. It was no short of a miracle that we were able to convert the land title and be debt free by the time we moved into the building in December 1998. During that time and the following years, the Holy Spirit also lent foresight to our leadership to purchase the surrounding pieces of land for future use, which later proved much needed for parking spaces.

Under the visionary leadership of Rev. Benjamin Yeoh, who sought to build not just for the present but for future generations, the church went on to acquire several additional properties, including the Agape Resource Centre, Agape Resource Bungalow, Lot 4406, and Lot 4407. Today, the church occupies more than five acres of land. Yet more than the land and facilities, it is the presence of God that truly defines Agape. Over the past two decades, the church has grown not only in numbers but also in spiritual depth. Generations have encountered God, grown in their faith, and stepped into leadership.

On 31 December 2025, Rev. Benjamin Yeoh retired as the Senior Pastor of Agape Community Church after 37 years of faithful and exemplary service. An appreciation service was held on 28 December 2025 to honour and celebrate his remarkable leadership and legacy. He was also bestowed the title of “Senior Pastor Emeritus” by the church board in recognition of his outstanding contribution through the seasons.

Through God’s divine appointment and under the collective leadership of Agape, Ps Yeoh Keong Jian was appointed Senior Pastor of Agape Community Church on 1 January 2026.

As of today our current campus includes our main sanctuary and the education building, an extension building (ANX) which was completed in 2015, an Agape Resource Center (ARC) for home schooling needs, and even an Agape Retreat Bungalow (ARB) for spiritual retreats and getaways.

We recognize that we are blessed to be a blessing to our community. Much community works have been started to meet the needs of our community and it is our prayer that our church will continue to grow and be a lighthouse for Seremban. It is with that heartbeat that Agape Gospel Assembly was renamed Agape Community Church on the 1st of January 2014.

We have seen God’s faithfulness in every chapter of our lives in Agape – both in the English and Chinese ministries, as well as our four outreaches in S2, Semenyih, Balakong and Nilai. Indeed, it was His Faithfulness in our lives, our church, our community, that has brought us to where we are today. All glory to God!
